Scientific Program

ASV President Hector Aguilar-Carreno, Program Committee Chair Moriah Szpara, and the Program Committee have put together an outstanding program of plenary and state-of-the-art speakers. To view all six state-of-the-art lectures, click here.

There will be three Satellite Symposia organized by ASV Councilors Anna Whitfield (Plant Virology), Benhur Lee (Medical Virology), and Roberto Miguel Alers-Vasquez and Laura St. Clair (Virology Trainees). There is an additional satellite symposium, "Emerging Zoonoses and Priority Pathogens," organized by the local host and Canadian Society for Virology President Selena Sagan and Kanta Subbarao. We are pleased to welcome Charles Rice (The Rockefeller University), past ASV President (2002-2003), as this year's Keynote Speaker. His address, “A cure for Hepatitis C: Now what?”, will be Monday, July 14. That will be followed by Symposium I, which concludes with the Ann Palmenberg Junior Investigator Awards.

Sustainability Efforts

• Remember to bring your annual meeting badge holder and reusable tote bag from a previous meeting. If this is your first meeting, only a badge holder will be provided.
• All leftover food from the annual meeting will be donated to local charities and shelters.
• Water stations are located throughout the Palais des congrès de Montréal, bring a refillable container to reduce waste.
