ASV Travel Awards

Travel award applications are now open! You can apply through your membership account or by clicking the button below. Students, postdocs, and Global Virology Scholars must submit an abstract first and provide the abstract ID. Only applicants who are the presenting authors on the abstract are eligible to apply for a travel award.
Not an ASV Member? You can apply here. You must submit your application by February 1, 2023 in order to apply for an ASV Student or Postdoc Travel Award. Membership is not required for Global Scholar or Teacher of Undergraduate Virology awards.
These $500 awards are for students who are the presenting author on an abstract submitted for ASV 2023 and who are current ASV members (dues paid for 2023).
These $500 awards are for postdoctoral scholars who are the presenting author on an abstract submitted for ASV 2023 and who are current ASV members (dues paid for 2023).
This $1,000 award is for teachers of undergraduate virology who are actively engaged in teaching and who might benefit professionally from attending the ASV meeting. Neither ASV membership nor abstract submission are required to receive this award
This award is for Global Virology Scholars to attend the annual ASV meeting, covering up to $3,000 in expenses. Applicants must submit an abstract as the presenting author at the annual meeting, but need not be an ASV member.
Please note that these awards are limited to scholars performing research activities in low to middle income countries as defined by Wellcome using criteria from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
