Partnership between the American Society for Virology (ASV) and the Australasian Virology Society (AVS)

We are very pleased to announce an exciting new partnership between our two Societies with the goal of strengthening virology research across the globe. The partnership will provide exciting opportunities for early career researchers to present their work and network with colleagues, and to build international collaborations and advance interdisciplinary science.

The partnership will allow an exchange of speakers to present in person and virtually at ASV and AVS conferences and associated virtual symposia.

As a first step to solidifying this partnership, the 2023 American Society for Virology Ann Palmenberg Junior Investigator Award recipients will present at the AVS virtual symposium on December 12th, 2023.

Registration and abstract submission for this event is now open to AVS and ASV members on https://www.avs.org.au/avs-virtual-symposium-2023.

One awardee of the AVS and ASV will be selected to attend the corresponding ASV and AVS conferences in person. Details on these awards will follow.

With Best wishes,

Anne Moscona, President ASV
Heidi Drummer, President, AVS
