COVID-19 Vaccine FAQs

The Vaccine Education program was made possible by the partnership and support of the American Society for Microbiology. The American Society for Virology is also grateful for the support of a number of individual donors.

Virologists in the Classroom

Public interest in viruses and virology is at an all-time high due to the coronavirus pandemic. The American Society of Virology membership is comprised of scientists and educators who are dedicated to communicating current, evidence-based information about virology-related topics and issues to the public. Toward this goal, we have curated a list of ~300 ASV members who have volunteered to speak with educational organizations (schools and classes, community organizations, museums, etc…) about virology in a virtual setting. In this way, we hope to make it easy for educators to have access to experts who can support classroom learning as it relates to virology.

While ASV is making this list available to educators and educational organizations, it is up to individual educators/organizations to contact the virologist they are interested in speaking with to schedule a time that works best for both parties. Those who are interested in having access to our list of virologists should use their professional email and contact the ASV Communications Committee at communications@asv.org.

Media Requests

Media can request a list of virologists available for interviews. If you are interested in having access to our list of virologists, please contact the ASV Communications Committee via email at communications@asv.org.
